

Updated on February 6th, 2023 by Michael Colwander: There's still life in the zombie apocalypse genre. Every The Last of Us Infected stage carries with them different traits based on how long they've been infected and even their environment.

Throughout The Last of Us, the standalone DLC The Last of Us: Left Behind, and The Last of Us: Part II, players encounter numerous stages of infection in The Last of Us. In turn, The Last of Us' zombies, or Infected, are born. The fungus leads the host to a suitable location that would best allow the fungus to continue spreading.
